Hello Everyone,

I just bought an old motor, and the guy couldn't tell me what was the ratio oil/fuel for his motor.

Would you help me or just tell me to what door i should knock?

thank you very much.

50 parts gasoline for 1 part oil.-----Seller likely is flipping the motor if he does not know ratio.----Or if he has been running it then did he do damage ?

I think most boating people know that these motors run at 50:1.-----And that has been so since about 1964 model years.-----Not secret information.

Check cylinder compresion with a dial compression tester to be sure cylinders are in good shape. The 50:1 ratio It's 80 Ml of oil per 3.80 Ltr gallon.

Happy Boating

Doing a compression test isn't any harder than replacing the spark plugs.

Get yourself a compression tester:

Remove all spark plugs. Screw the testers adapter into the spark plug hole. Crank the motor over about 4 times. The gauge will stop rising at a certain point by itself no matter how much you crank it over.
Write that number down. Repeat for all the cylinders. Compare the numbers or post the results here. ;)

Hello!
thank you, i didn't it was that easy, I'll try my motor this spring, if it doesn't work i'll buy this cheap device to test it to test my motor.

I didn't know it would be that easy to test.

Thanks for the advice Jhande, have a nice evening.
