As a lifetime rad worker, I can tell you that "glow in the dark" thing only affects certain body parts - but it is kinda neat!

Does this mean I can get rid of my CFL s?

I have had more radiation pumped into my viens lately then you would get from the plume. I'm surprised I'm not glowing.

Taking the iodine pills can be worse for you than a small amount of radiation. Talk to your doctor before self prescribing yourself any medicine.

I feel it important we have a clear and precise understand of facts, so we can make half intelligent decisions. I have got completely P/O with all forms of Media (well, don't get Time Magazine till Monday) so I did a bit of searching myself for 'facts'.
Bit of a long post, so opened a separate thread.
Got a family in Japan we are concerned for, but will leave that for another post too.

Things are completely out of control here. There is hail on the ground from last night, leaves on the peach tree, and about as much radiation as you would get from picking up a brick.
