Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to buy a three blade prop for my 66 merc 500? I cant find anything on the web. I will use this boat for pulling a tube or wakeboard and can someone explain what pitch is? What should I get? thanks.

Re: Three blade prop.

I contacted Michigan Wheel and well they are as lost as I am. It really sucks as I really dont know much about marine motors and thier questions are hard to answer. Such as,

Whats the diameter of my prop?
What pitch is my prop?
Something about splines, ect. I have no answers to thier questions and it makes it that much harder to find the prop. Please, if anyone knows where I can pick up a prop for my merc it would really be appreciated. If you find one please link it to me or pm me if its against the forum rules to link. Thanks.

Does the old prop have a number on it? The one on my Suzuki did. Had a 14 in it, turned out to be the diameter... Take a look

I have a 65 merc 500 so I'll be looking with you. There should be a number on your prop. -- X -- something like 10 X 11 ist number is diameter second is pitch. you can figure diameter
measure from center to the end of the blade and double the figure.
if no numbers on the prop a prop repair shop can measure for you.
Splines are the ridges in the hub that slide into the grooves in the prop shaft.
just count them. The pitch is the inches the prop moves forward in one revolution disregarding slip.

Whats the diameter of my prop?
What pitch is my prop?

Re: Three blade prop.

I inspected the prop and prob area, cant find any numbers whatsoever. I will post some pics of the prop and the prop area in a day or two. I will try to do my best to find one, I am sure there is one somewhere in this big old world of ours lol. Thanks guys for all your help, I really do appreciate it.
