throttle controls

hi guys need help.i hooked up omc controls to 40 hp johnson ,my tilt trim works ,when i turn key on there is a beep,but when i turn key to start no power.to starting motor .if i cross out starter it ingages. battery is good. cables are new. hope you can help.

What year are the motor and controls? If they are compatible and the original quick connects are in tact, then it should be "plug n play".

Motor 1996 . Omc controls everything is comparable ,motor is oil injected
