Tilt & Trim bind/stop issue

I replaced the pump a couple years ago on my T/T, and all was well. However, lately my motor will tilt down easily until it hits those 2 piston rods jutting out at the base of the T/T. Then is labors hard to compress those to get down all the way. If I don't take it in 2 secong stages, the relay will burn - it's that hard. If I take it slowly in 2 second bursts, it will go down all the way.

What's the deal with this - what's the problem & what's the fix? It's like they are full of fluid & won't drain to let the motor down.

What use are these anyway - the big center piston does all the work.

Re: Tilt & Trim bind/stop issue

Have ya added fluid lately? Is there any bend or dinks on tha rods? Tha big clyinder won't hold tha motor up when ya put pressure on it (in gear and above about 1500 ta 2000 rpm). Its strictly a tilt clyinder. Tha small ones are "trim"........

I've seen no marks or scars or bending in the rods or anything. I've not added fluid lately. Does low fluid make this happen?
