Timing Issues

I have a 1972 Chrysler 70HP 707HE Outboard that I converted from a electronic ignition to a coil and condenser. My flywheel has a 0* mark and a 36* mark which I see several different timing sets through out the internet. I set my timing at 4* advance by putting my 0* mark at negative 4 on the timing marker, the engine starts up just fine BUT when engaging the prop in to forward while in the water the engine dies, as in no torque. Nothing I do in increasing the timing by the timing adjustment screw seams to make no difference at all. Compression in each of the 3 cylinders is 135 lbs, water flow is consistent through out the engine and exhaust exit. Outside of the water all works well, obviously no torque issues due to no water.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
Sorry for the long post but I know you guys can help me with this.

Isa 4325 check out the link and sync by Frank A at the top of this forum.

You set the timing at WOT, not at idle and at the #1 cylinder.

1. Pull all plugs out and ground them.
2. Set the throttle at WOT.
3. Set the keyswitch in ON position.
4. Turn the flywheel slowly CW by hand.
5. The #1 plug should fire at 28dgr BTDC.
6. Adjust if not by shorten or lengthen the timing rod at timing tower.

It is important that the points are set at right gap, should be 014.

28dgr BTDC static timing would end up at 32-30dgr dynamic.

Then you set the idle speed with the screw at timing tower.
Depending on the idle speed the timing at idle would end up at 2-4dgr BTDC, BUT it does not matter what it would be at idle.
The important thing is timing at WOT.

NO not 014 at the plugs ....to narrow.
Plugs will have a set about 025-027.
014 is for the points.

.020 points
Some smaller Chryslers (35) are set at .015
Plugs about .030

Sometimes the gap will be printed or stamped on the flywheel??

Everything went just fine, got it timed in per your instructions, tweaked the timing rod till I had it sparking at 32* WOT, started very easy, warm up took about 10 minutes, good water flow for cooling. Lake a tad choppy so I will wait till tomorrow morning and see how the torque is once in gear. Thank you again Nordin.
