I have a 1972 Chrysler 70HP 707HE Outboard that I converted from a electronic ignition to a coil and condenser. My flywheel has a 0* mark and a 36* mark which I see several different timing sets through out the internet. I set my timing at 4* advance by putting my 0* mark at negative 4 on the timing marker, the engine starts up just fine BUT when engaging the prop in to forward while in the water the engine dies, as in no torque. Nothing I do in increasing the timing by the timing adjustment screw seams to make no difference at all. Compression in each of the 3 cylinders is 135 lbs, water flow is consistent through out the engine and exhaust exit. Outside of the water all works well, obviously no torque issues due to no water.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
Sorry for the long post but I know you guys can help me with this.
