Re: Trailer to big to fit in garage

Wishing I had a one car bigger garage. Then I too could add the Fulton folding Tongue and park my boat in my garage. Too many toys and tools. :(

Re: Trailer to big to fit in garage

I put one of the Fulton swing kits on my trailer to allow it fit in the garage with 1" to spare. Couldn't be happier with the end result. Installation was straight forward, and they even supply the drilling fixture for the mounting holes. Money well spent.

That thing looks nice. How much weight can it take?

Re: Trailer to big to fit in garage

iboats.com sells the hinge by itself in the marine store, both for class II and class III.

They'd have the same rating as the more complete version I bought with the coupler included for a 21" swing. They hinge itself allows for up to 34" of tongue to swing. Any more than that and the stress on the hinge may be excessive.

I'm sure there may be other manufacturers out there... just thought I'd comment on the one I am familiar with.

Good luck.

Re: Trailer to big to fit in garage

I'm gonna build a new "boat garage" in about a month. (As soon as it dries up some). JUST FOR THE BOAT !!!!!!

It will have at least one skylight, and 3 windows, concrete floor and of course a overhead door. NOT sure yet if I want a garage door opener or not. It will be insulated, with lights, and receps. Just gotta get it dried out around here !!!!!!!! ;)

Gotta have our Mustang, and 2 trucks in out of the weather !!!!!!

Wife kinda grumbled a bit, but she said to go ahead !!!!!!!

This may be a stupid question but... when you install one of those swing away hitches doesn't cutting into the trailer tongue compromise the galvanization on that spot?

Honestly, does your trailer have to go that deep in the water to load/unload? The front of the trailer usually isn't too deep. The cold galvanize should take care of you if that is the case.
