You'll have to be alittle More Specific as to Exactly What you want to Know,........

Generally,............
Dig out the Screwheads,....
Remove the Screws,.....
Remove the Rotten Planks,......
Fashion New Planks,.....
Install the new wood,.....
Replug the screwheads,.....
Sand,+ Paint to Finish................ ;)

Re: Transom Repair

Thanks Bondo
I'm good with wrenches, but no so hot with wood. The bottom planks feel, sound, & look good. Rotten lower transom & chine inside bilge. I will take your advice and start digging out the screws. Thanks for your help. (Ramboski)

Well,...........I was Also Born a Wrench,.......
But,... I dabble in Everything Else............. :D
The bottom planks feel, sound, & look good. Rotten lower transom & chine inside bilge.
The only thing I can tell you here is,.... OK,.. 2 Things I can Tell you Is,.....

1),... Grab an Ice Pick(awl),+ Crawl down into the bilges,+ Start Poking at Everywhere that Might Possibly be less than sound wood,.....
The Ice Pick won't hurt anything,.. Except the Rotten Wood,......
The Ice Pick(awl) is also a Choice Tool for removing the wooden plugs,+ the glue from the screwheads holding the planking on........

2),... Do your Best to remove the rotten wood As the pieces they once Were,.... You'll Need the Patterns.............. ;)

I'm a Chainsaw Carpenter,......
I can reproduce a "Copy" of something,.... Even out of Wood........ :D
