I went fishing today and had arrived at the ramp early and was waiting for my fishing buddy.

I had a few items of trash in my truck so I walked over to the trash can ( 60 feet from where I parked) to dispose of my trash.

Then I looked at the parking area and surrounding grassy areas and was appalled at the trash that the "I don't give a hoot" people had thrown out.

I spent 15 minutes or so picking up McDonald wrappers, soft drink containers, plastic water bottles, etc that these idiots had thrown out.

The local government received a grant and had just improved the "Ohio River Green Way" installing new lamps, sidewalks, walking paths etc.

Our tax dollars went into attempting to make this area people friendly and appealling and then these morons can't dispose of their trash properly. IRRRRRRRR. It gets me P.O.d :mad:

PS. The city did not touch the boat ramp and access ramp. Pot holes, drop offs, can't launch in shallow water condition, no courtesy dock, etc. But the "park" at the top of the ramps is nice to walk around after Tyme picked up the trash.

Yup, can't stand people who throw trash on the ground, out of car windows, etc.

A bunch of years ago, I was driving up the Merritt Parkway in Ct. and some moron threw a drink can out the window of his car. I had my first cell phone (the kind with a base station mounted in the center console & a real handset), so I called the cops! LMAO .... I told them they had a possible DWI. When they asked why I thought booze was involved, I said "might be the BUDWEIZER CAN THAT JUST BOUNCED OFFA MY HOOD!"

I hope the fool enjoyed the ticket! :D

i have an elementary school 1 1/2 blocks down the street. i sit on the front porch most afternoons, and watch the kids go by. they have learned over the years not to throw their trash, in our yards. yesterday, a probable high school drop out, Dress like a street walker, was excorting her younger siblings home for school. the threw a plastic soda bottle at on of the siblings, then left it. i told her to pick up her trash and not throw it in our yards. she then told me what i could do with her trash. nasty mouth kid.

Re: Trashy people

I have got out, picked up their freshly thrown garbage and passed it back to them either through their car window in most cases or put it in their boat if at the ramp. Telling them " I think you dropped this"
Speaking of our children. Ours have learned to clean up after themselves and properly disposing of garbage. Having said that, you should have seen their bedrooms !!!!

And you gotta love the bottles, cans, fast food bags and or a pile of cig. butts on a parking space where they just open the door, clean the car out before they pulled out.

Re: Trashy people

I was driving back from the supermarket about a month ago. Near my home is some railroad tracks and a golf course with a pathway along a major road.

Near the railroad tracks, someone had dumped two garbage bags full of stuff. On the pathway by the golf course were more bags, some furniture, and other assorted junk. Looked like someone had cleaned their house out and just dumped it all.

Ticked me off, so I walked over to have a look. The lamebrain who had done this hadn't bothered to check their trash. One of the bags had burst and had unopened bills and other mail, complete with a name and address on them.

So, I called the cops, and they met me at the location. They checked it out. Turned out the address was just a couple of blocks from where the trash was dumped, and just a block away from my house.

Last I saw, there were three black and whites in front of that house. A city truck came and picked up the garbage and trash, except for the bags, which went in the back of a the cop cars.

Four people ended up being arrested on outstanding warrants. Apparently, the plan was to skip out on the rent and move away. I don't even know why they bothered tossing the garbage.

Re: Trashy people

Some people don't give a rats butt about anything unless its theirs. They toss garbage, make noise late at night, etc. Years ago I was at a car show with my '40 Ford convertible. Some moron walks up to my car, stands his 2 or 3 year old kid on the hood of my car, takes the kids picture and drags him off. Just didn't give a crap about what that kids shoes might have done to the cars paint job, or even if the kid might dent the hood, or just fall off and get hurt.

The worse case I know of was at a school recycle center. Someone from a local dentist office had decided to throw several open bags of bloody used medical cotton.gause and stuff into an open trash can. It was falling on to the ground. It made me sick to see it and so I called the proper authoritys and reported it. I found out later that "someone got into big trouble" as they should have.

Re: Trashy people

I hear all of ya. Never fails when I fish the spillways in my area I end up picking up all the trash along the wall and fence where people stand. Wrappers from tackle, bait containers, food, drink containers, fishing line, ect. I did one time while picking all this stuff up have another guy start helping me. Maybe he learned something that day. Sad part of this is there are trash cans all over the area where the stuff is on the ground.

Ice fishing is what gets me. All these fishermen leaving everything on the ice, beer bottles, cig packs, cig butts, candy wrappers empty 1 lb propane cans. They must think this stuff just vanishes when the ice melts. Their hobby is fishing and tossing this garbage on the ice is the same as tossing it in the lake.

If I leave the cover off my boat when it's parked in front of my house, A-Holes will throw their trash into it.

I just want to catch one of those punks doing it just ONE time.

Re: Trashy people

I usually just take all my trash to Utah and toss it in some guys boat thats parked in front of his house. :p

I know the feelin though Uraijit... I find beer bottles, sometimes broken in my front yard. One time I was mowing the lawn and a guy tossed one onto the lawn. I grabbed it and chased him down the street to the traffic light a block away and bounced it off his rear window while screaming a few choice words. Made me feel a little better :D.
