Hey guys, you may remember me from this post. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=519268 I haven't been on here in a while as I've been busy restoring this entire boat. I'm about 90% done with the mechanical, then on to the interior. I've run into a problem with the trim motor. I've researched and researched, and tried multiple things, to no avail. My problem with the trim is that when I push up, down, or trailer only, I just hear a clicking sound. It doesn't actually function. It will click one time with each button pressed, then that's it, no matter how long I hold the button. I've checked the connections and everything looks solid, nothing loose. I know this is very broad and general, but if you guys can start shooting ideas or solutions at me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Either a bad solenoid(s) or connections.

Re: Trim motor clicking, not functioning.

Ok, so I've completed all of the troubleshooting steps. The electrical components are all in tact and functioning properly. I ended up taking the motor apart to clean and rebuild it and it's damaged beyond repair. With that being said, I need to replace it. I've searched online for the exact motor and the prices are a little high. My question is, can the 88183A12 replace the 88183A11 motor. My motor is the 88183A11. I found multiple 88183A12 motors online, brand new, for less than $70. I haven't found my exact motor for less that $300 online. Thanks in advance guys.

Another question I have is if these motors are not interchangeable, Will I be able to purchase an entire new motor/reservoir and have it function on the outdrive that I currently have? If so, there are the 88183A12 motor/reservoir combos that are listed for $189.00 brand new. That's still cheaper than the motor I have, by itself.

I'm running into the exact same problem. Very interested in any answer available. Any updates? It's the last piece on my Intimidator puzzle....well except for the windshield replacement.

I'm guessing it's a difference in number of bolts used to attach the motor to the reservoir? Even the salvage yards are pricey compared to the A12 version.
