When I trim my 2002 130 Johnson down, the (trim) motor runs but I have to physically push the motor down. it comes up ok, and once the engine is down and in the running position and I am under way both up and down work fine, but when I put the motor up all the way it does not go down unless assisted. The fluid level appears to be ok, and the tilt motor runs but it will not lower the engine when it is tilted out to the full position it needs to be pushed down with the trim tilt motor running.
Any suggestions?

Spoke to a guy about my Tilt problem and he said it sounds like the motor is bad.
Question is how to replace it, does the motor have to come off the boat to replace the trim motor or is it something that can be done witout removing the entire engine from the boat?

If the motor was bad it wouldn't go up, the pump might be bad but if you haven't bled the system you haven't eliminated the other possibilties first. Do a search on tilt problems or get the factory manual.
Do all three !

That makes sense, how do you bleed it? I will get a manual, but in the meantime is there a step by step procedure for bleeding it?
