The trailer switch overrules the trim limmit switch and uses the same up-solenoid.
The trim limmit switch or wiring to it couses the problem your dealing with.

Did you ever get your problem figured out as i am having the same issues? I replaced the solenoids to no avail so i am about to look into the trim limit switch but would like to make sure before i spend more money and time tearing everything apart.

As this thread is 2 years old I suggest you start your own... If you do that, I will give you some advice on pinpointing the problem.
