Re: Trolling Motor Brand???
It's really nice.... you have your choice with the 12 / 24 switch. You can run either 12 volt or 24 volt when two 12 volt batteries are wired in a series to get 24 volts. Flipping the foot pedal switch you have either 12 volts (3 motor speeds) on the primary battery or 24 volts (3 motor speeds) on both batteries.

Disconnecting or removing the second battery, the motor will run off the primary battery or 12 volts. The motor then has just the first 3 speeds and only works with the switch set at 12 volts.

I didn't ever need to do this.... but if you run the motor long and hard on just the 12 volt, first 3 speeds and run the primary battery down, you can switch the batteries and be good to go again. I mention this because my boat only had the two batteries and a lot of things were wired to the primary battery. All the 12 volt running electric equipment, including electric start and power trim and tilt for the main outboard motor, plus a rear 12 volt electric transom trolling motor. My marine dealer had all the rigging done for me and it worked very well, even with the river current.

It is recommended that a separate battery be used for a outboard motor. But I preferred two batteries instead of three. My dealer said no problem, because of the size of the outboard motor (45 hp).

I do not know the trolling motor thrust of each voltage. For me, it wouldn't matter what it was. With charged batteries the motor has a lot of power to do the job.
