trouble going into reverse

Just this past week I have been having problems getting into reverse, as in, it will go in like 5% of the time. It goes into forward no problem every time. I presume I have to adjust the shift cables somehow? What do I need to do?

How old is the shift cable? You probably need to replace it.Jerry

Shift cables don't suddenly go out of adjustment. They do wear out. The inner core wire wears a groove in the outer sheath creating a lot of extra slop in the cable. Replacement is the only cure.

darn. So its for sure the cables then?
