I have a leak somewhere in the outdrive and water is getting in and mixing with the oil. When I removed the outdrive, the driveshaft bellows was completely dry, not a drop of oil or water. I had separated the lower unit and tested it independently by using a vac line plug to plug off the port where the small o-ring goes beside the water pump housing. It held 11psi for the whole 2 hours I tested. I spun the prop shaft and shift shaft but not the drive shaft because I was and still am unsure whether it is supposed to turn clockwise or CCW. I thought great it must be confined to the upper unit most likely the 2 seals the the lower unit driveshaft slide through. After getting it put back together and pressure testing with soapy water, I have found that those two seals are not leaking. The leaking air sound seems to be coming from the water pump, however I can't fit my fingers in there to feel air or get a good look at where soapy water would bubble. Im thinking its a possible carrier seal below the water pump. What baffles me is that it held pressure when I had the lower unit pressured by itself but leaking in that area when I have them together. What do you guys think? Im overlooking something here. Maybe take the lower unit off, remove the water pump and then spin the shaft while spraying soapy water on the lower unit carrier seal?
