John

I ended up getting two sheets of 3/4" and 4 sheets of 1/2"

Here's some pics of the progress I made today:

Cut out side gunwale boxes, front cabin wall and about half the deck. The stringers look like 1 by solid stock. The foam wasn't as wet as I expected, though you can see it is in the back starboard corner.

John, wall wasn't too bad. Cut the bottom where it was tabbed with glass. Then drove a paint scraper between the wall and the cap where the adhesive was and it popped out eventually. Cool on the tex, I'll swing by and get it tuesday or wednesday next week. Thanks for getting it for me. Fun? Yeah, actually it is fun. I was a little disappointed not to find more water in the foam. The back 3 feet of that stringer are trashed though.

Ok, made quite a bit of progress this weekend, though i pulled a muscle in my back and that is slowing me down. Back pain Sucks!

Got the rest of the floor out on the port side. The stringer there is in great shape. I'm not sure what to do????? Just replace it since i'm in there already? It's 1" solid board. Not sure what kind. Reddish, like cedar.

Got out the back half of the starboard stringer. cleaned out foam in very back and started cutting out inner transom skin. Truthfully, I was disappointed in that the foam wasn't waterlogged here. Yes, there was some wet foam along the stringer and the bottom of the hull, but it was pretty minor. I was happy to find a solid outboard stringer which will provide nice support for the new floor. You can see that the stringer itself is pretty rotted out. However, I don't think the rot goes much forward of where I cut it.

Dug to the bottom of this forward compartment. Foam is dry. However, bulkhead is rotted and needs replacing. I'd like to possibly get rid of most of the foam and make this a storage compartment in the rebuild.

Actually, John. I made a "cave" out of tarps from floor to ceiling around the boat. My 9" Dayton blower exhausts out the window and it's done a great job of moving the dust out.

hey 58, slickcraft sure didnt' spare any money in the staple department did they? Not sure if yours is the same but mine has loads of staples holding stuff together and they are a super pain in the you know what to get out. Mostly I have to cut them with a sawzall. The starboard block where the lifting hook is bolted through won't budge. I'm gonna have to cut that off in little pieces to get it out. Same with my bulkheads. Little blocks they stapled the heck out of that help hold them to the stringers.

yeah, she really moves some air!!! I'm very pleased with the dust control so far. Every once in a while i have an idea that actually works, lol.

As far as the port stringer, I just don't see the point of removing good dry wood and foam. Maybe I'll just break down and do it, not sure yet.
