I am wondering how to adjust my valves on my remanufactured engine. It came from the factory with a loose rocker arm stud and one of my exhaust valves was not opening, causing the engine to backfire through the carb.
The engine is a 4.3LX Mercruiser with a Weber 4-barrel carb.
The exhaust risers on each side have either throttle controls or other electronics bolted to them which makes it impossible to remove the valve covers to adjust the valves. If I remove these, there is a bolt sticking out the back side of the exhaust riser that hits the valve cover, I cant remove the exhaust riser and start the engine. what do I do here??
