Why put something off till tomorrow when you can do it today? I might spend 5 cents day. Cowboy up!!

im already on a diet to lose some weight add quitting smoking to that and failure is 100 percent assured.

You still get your nicotine supply. Now you have a choice of flavors. If your like tobacco flavor they got it,most find out they prefer sweet flavors tho. Its not quitting, its a safer alternative to smoking real cigs that have 4600 known chemicals that will and do kill. The E-cig has 3 chemicals, water, food flavor, and nicotine... And still keeps your hands busy

i will have to look into them though i question why if in fact their so safe and if its true, why are they banned in canada?i live on a border town so it wouldnt be hard to go across the river and get them after i do research on them first.

I feel, smell and taste things 100 times better since I quit real smokes and never skipped a beat. That coming from a 25yr smoker. I never knew how offensive the smell of real cigs were/are till I quit smoking them. Now I cant stand the smell and it really p's me off when the walmart worker is standing at the door smoking a cig when I walk by....Nobody likes change could be a reason to blame there illegal in your country. I THINK ITS ABOUT THE $$$$. E-cigs would be very hard to regulate. Easier to just ban and say we'll research it later. Good luck crossing the border :)

Well, I thought what a great way to help quit smoking. Now I come to find out they are illegal in Canada. I guess I'll have to make a weekend of it down in Buffalo.

That sucks, I am just waiting for us (US) to crack the whip on them here too. They won't be fully sanctioned by the FDA until they are made profitable by the FDA of course.

How hard is Canada's border patrol about bringing stuff from the states?

There is a guy at my wife's work that has one. He told my wife he got it at the huge market just south of us. We are going to take a run down tomorrow. Any particular brand that is good? Or one to stay away from? I smoke Putters Light now so what nic level should I be looking for? I think they are around 1.0 OR 1.2

I found an E-Cig forum and none of the people seem to have a problem ordering from the U.S. or crossing the border with them. Apparently it was a big problem when Health Canada put the ban on in 2009 but I guess it seems like it's no big deal now.

Thats good. The FDA claims they are worried about the chemicals used in the vaping fluid. They also claim youths might see them as a novelty that will encourage them to try real cigarettes.

I guess it is better to get both the chemicals AND the tar, formaldehyde and other gross additives tobacco provides... The youth thing I can halfway understand though.

the sale of nicotine juices here is Illegal, yet you can import it, you can allso find ppl here selling it lol
there is a company here that make a non nicotine juice that smells and tastes like pot without the high (i have never used any so i wouldnt know). im guessing the drug dogs would ignore it due to the lack of the chemicals that pot has, yet the cops would smell it and go nutts looking for it :D oh the fun one could have.

18-24mg nicotine is where I would start. Smoktech or ego are good brands.

We just got back from the flea market and picked up a Joytech Ego-c starter kit.

It came with two of everything so one for the wife and one for me. The salesman asked what we were currently smoking and we said the same a Players Light. He had 24mg, 18mg and 11mg juice and recommended the 18. Looks like our tobacco use has ended.

That is a great starter kit. Just to let ya know that the first couple days will hurt the throat. All goes away after that and starts steam cleaning your lungs out,you will hack some nasty stuff up for about 2 weeks. What flavors did ya go with?

Thanks for the fore warning. Starting to cough up some toxic crap already. The body trying to cleans it self I guess. We started with a smoke flavor called Parliment as recommended by the sales guy. Supposed to be the same as smoking and he was right. Tastes the same as the analog's we smoked. He recommended that for the beginning as we get used to the e-smokes and then pick a flavor later on. I have to say I'm pretty impressed.

Good for you! I don't think it's the vaping that causes the coughing up or sore throat. I didn't have either. I think your body just starts cleaning itself like you said.

When I did it I just got the cheapo "Myst" brand at Walmart, the whole kit was 12 bucks. I did that for a few months, even reloaded my own cartridges, then I just quit altogether. It has been awesome, I dropped a full minute off my 2 mile run time just from doing this.

Interesting post. My mom is trying the E-Cig and I will make sure she reads this thread. She's been smoking for 40years. She coughs so much right now I am a smoker myself and it makes me think I should quit.

I really hope it helps her to get rid of that nasty cough she has.

Anybody mind giving a short explanation on how you use these things? I smoke about half a pack a day. How would I prepare one of these things for a day at work?

Here is a link on how they actually work. http://evape.ca/store/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=8

Like you I smoke about a half a pack a day. Maybe a bit more. I smoke it when ever I get the urge to have a real cig. My cartridge lasts me about three days and the battery is good for a week. I refill my own cartridges. I am currently using tobacco flavored liquid with 18mg nicotine. My goal is to drop to 11mg nicotine and then to nothing. It's just like smoking in that it supplies your nicotine cravings, but without all the poisonous chemicals that a real cigarette contains. What you breath out is water vapor. The liquid is nothing more than water, propylene glycol, the flavoring and the nicotine. And believe me, the one I am using tastes just like Canadian cigs. Fools the mind nicely. :D
