Of all people, you aspeck, know the love of the human race better than most. We are just 2 guys that have that same privlidge. Plus, we are real men that are not afraid to show affection to all living creatures. We have our macho side. It takes confidence in ourselves to reach this plateau. :D

Since you are one of us.....would you like to join in?

Thanks very much, Jay. Headed out soon to see another Dr. She will be proud of her work when she sees me. I almost didn't make it. Spent several days in a coma. My body atrophied to almost nothing. I was willing to live my life this way if need be. I never expected to be somewhat normal physically or mentally again. Many people die from lymphoma and brain cancer as my parents did. I can't put in 12 hr days like I used to, but who wants to do that anyway, life is too short the way it is.

PS: I've stopped at Who Dat Nation a few times. Had a wonderful time!

Thanks, Swabbie.

I do live more carefree these days. I literally don't care about much except the safety of others under my watch. But, that's my job. Either at work or for all God's people.

I haven't planned any trips to the Carib anytime soon , but plan on taking my Lady to the Bahamas this summer. I have some close friends there and she would enjoy it. I've been scanning photos of one of my trips to the Carib and considering posting a chronicle here on iboats. It would be a permanent thread that my friends and family would enjoy. I'd bet there are some here that will make the trip someday, they just don't know it yet.

Glad to hear your healthy. Keep up the good work, my friend!:D
I'm looking forward to that chronicle. :)

Just found the thread, but It's always such awesome news when someone has gone through what you have.. physically and emotionally.. and kicked some butt, hung in there and came out clean in the end. Great to hear!! :)

You've got to do this!! A personal biography like that will be a personal journey as well. I'll be looking forward to the thread brother!. I love the carib and a journey like that is definitely on my bucket list, just impossible to do anytime in the near future

Just a side note..we just completed a remodel/renovation at the Long Beach, CA VA Hospital a few weeks ago and it was a pleasure getting to know some of the vets a little while we were there. What a great bunch with an awesome outlook on life they are.

I have some work to do on the chronicle. I kept a daily journal for around 8 years, some technical and some personal. Photos were taken with 35mm and need to be scanned for presentation. Took some video also. I've been working on it slowly for awhile.

Thanks 12vMan. I have 2 more years of every 6 months and if all works out, yearly. At that point, I may go back to sea. I am enjoying the healthy home life and becoming somewhat domesticated. BUT....I feel the sea-life pulling at me. It took me over a year to adjust living on a boat and traveling, and that became a part of me. It is taking me longer to get used to living back on terra firma.

We will see when my 2 years are up.

Again....Thanks To All!

Should be empty now, aspeck. I also wish you could be here in Sept. And as you know, I would love to travel to Africa sometime. Take care, my friend.

Sasto, congrats on the clean bill of health and thank you for your service. I also use the Philly VAMC. My primary care doc simply can't be beat. They are grossly over worked there but they care and do the best they can and I trust them over the local doc's and facilities here in Burlington County. I'll do the 7 block walk to the River Line with 2 transfers and another 6 block walk to the VAMC then the 5 min drive any day. Best regards to ya, and thanks again for your service.

My favorite VA center Castle Point NY, is right on the Hudson river, it needs a boat ramp and dock, so we can access it by boat, and take the vet who live there out for the day, it is the most beautiful part of the entire Hudson Vally.

Well only the good die young, so you must be doing something fun. Bravo, my wife is an RN with the VA-(I'm her best patient). Every Vet I meet with a problem I send to my wife. Many Vets have no idea about the benefits they are do. I've sent guys who were in areas where AO was sprayed & they might have had contact with it, but now have diabetes-that's at least 20% & many other things are covered. Go down and talk to a rep-you might be do some help.
