Depends on what you want to do with it. Are you looking for a cool ride, or do you intend to enter it in a judged ACBS boat show?

If the latter, you better have a period correct rig. When you get up in the 95 point range those judges are brutal. One year I flew a printed nylon flag on my stern light and got 4 points deducted. (Back in the 1950's flags were sewn cotton.)

Try Hemmings.com -they are the largest listing of old or odd cars and trucks in the U.S.or maybe The world. If they don't have it ,it's not for sale. Good Luck.

Now here's something you could drool over....period correct and mint condition. A Packard Woodie, Lyman post war and a Johnson classic.

This is from last year's ACBS show in Grand Island, NY - the second largest in the country. There were too many boats too close together so I couldn't get a single shot of the rig. It WAS displayed with the boat attached to the car.

Not your average Vintage Tow, and certainly not priced for the faint of heart....LOL.

The inline 6 at the time didn't have a whole lot of power, around 100HP. The V8 would make the experience better in my opinion. I recommended an auto because I think you would burn the clutch out pulling the boat out of the water because the ratio is too high. They didn't offer a "creeper gear" in the cars. The auto would make life easier. Of course, this is all my personal opinion.

On a travel trailer forum I frequent, several gentlemen have restored, vintage travel trailers with color coordinated 60'd PU's. It's really sweet looking!

I do think that since you can tow that rig with a bike, just buy whatever you like from the era you like. (I'd get a wagon).
