Hmmm, is this too modern?
Depends on what you want to do with it. Are you looking for a cool ride, or do you intend to enter it in a judged ACBS boat show?
Just cool![]()
One man's cool is another man's ugly. Its all up to you!
Wait, wait, what about a Studebaker?

Not your average Vintage Tow, and certainly not priced for the faint of heart....LOL.
the Whirlwind... which also happens to be the name of one of the coolest piston-engined fighter aircraft ever! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westland_Whirlwind_(fighter)

Love the Studebaker Lark. I would recommend a V8 and auto, very tough. Studebaker had pretty good brakes back then, of course, drum all way around, but big drums!
i dont know how to copy the pic into the post. it's in my profile though.
Why V8 and auto? Towing capacity? (My rig weighs less than 1,000 pounds.) Thanks!
I came across this and thought of you period correct, good for Home Depot runs, and I guarantee it would be different
PS they used to get about 25+MPG
