I really like the yellow boats! I believe they are a lot more rare than the red. Nice looking boat! I really like how you did the interior!

@Tim, in rough shape I would start around $2000. Verify the running gear is in good shape because they will have a big impact and consider how much work you are going to do yourself. In good shape market value is about $6500, so you've got to be pretty careful to not get more into it than what its worth. Good luc

Time to bring this thread back to life. Unfortunately, other projects have taken priority over the Vindicator for the last two years. I'm on a mission to get the floors back in and have the boat ready for boating season this year! All the bad wood is out, bad glass is ground out and I'm ready to start getting it back together. I'll have pics soon!

Btw, I've been pretty shocked at the lack of quality control from the factory in the inner structure of the boat. There's lots of places where the layup sagged away from the stringers and transom. They glassed over the pass thru's in the crossmember ahead and behind the tank causing little to no drainage. The wood inside the motor mounts appeared to be just chunks of 2x6 dropped in with no glue/ resin/ glass of any sort. The lag bolts through the motor mounts were not sealed, so water passed straight in to the vulnerable motor mount blocks. The CSM only went about 2/3's of the way up the stringers and was mostly less than 1/16" thick. I found the stringers were notched 3/4" under the seats, apparently for a reinforcement that was never installed. This left a nice opening for water to pass from the bilge to the foam filled underfloor. I'm guessing right now that I pulled 300lbs of wet foam out of the boat. I did not find any indication of resin or mat on the bottom of the floor and there was definitely no adhesive to the stringers. I also found the spacer strips under that gas tank were imbedded in the fiberglass, meaning the layup was still wet when they dropped the tank in!!

I'm planning to layup the stringers with 2 tabs of .75ox CSM, followed by 2 layers of 1708 and capping the stringers with CSM. I'll resin and mat the bottom of the new floor, glue it down to the stringers with construction adhesive, then resin, tab, mat and cloth the top of the deck. I'm also planning to shoot the new floor and the insides of the boat with grey gelcoat to clean up the look. If things go really well, I may go with snap in carpets.

Watch for more updates! Hopefully it will be back in the water in a month!
