I'm a belt and braces bloke where my life is at risk.

All the fuel in the world isn't worth anything on a dead electrical system, a gearshift that won't engage, a broken shear pin that can't be replaced on the water, etc etc. At least until you get back to land when fuel is a useful accelerant as you carry out your threat to burn it if you live through this one.

But my cunning plan for my antique fuel guzzler is an adapter hose for the 5hp Mariner tank that will take the Evinrude hose. So the Mariner tank is both the fuel supply for the auxiliary as well as a reserve tank for the main motor. Lets me survive running out of fuel on the main tank if the big donk still works or get home on the little one if the big one dies. Without risking fuel spills transferring fuel onboard from the little tank to the big one.Originally posted by Dunaruna:
Running out of fuel. A second motor is great but planning your fuel usage is better.

Aldo
I've run aground in the inshore Rhyll mooring channel in a 12' dinghy just using daylight and natural stupidity. I don't need GPS to do it!Originally posted by Dunaruna:
I've run aground while using my GPS! (foggy night). Never been to the Tooradin channel, always thought it was to shallow.

Aldo
