VP trim position sensor not working

Need to replace the trim position sensor on my VP duoprop outdrive. Looks to be any easy swap with just 2 screws and 3 wires. Is there any tricks to changing these that I should be aware of? Will the replacement come with the wire splicers? Do they need to be water tight connections? Any special adjustments?

Pages 33, 35, and 41 will guide you thru the R&R and adjustment of the sender.

Thanks for the link. Looking at the manual it shows 2 wires from the sensor, but my unit has 3 wires. 2 black and 1 white?

Your new one will only have 2 wires.

So which wire is left off when I wire in the new one? Will the new one come with wire splicers? If not, do the connections need to be water tight?
