I recently purchased a 1993 Johnson 50 in non-working order. For the low price I knew I would be dealing with some issues. In starting to sort things out I noticed that there are some items that are used in a VRO motors such as the four pin Molex connector cable. I do not believe my motor is VRO capable motor only because there's no VRO designation on the back of the engine cover as I've seen with other VRO equipped motors. I do know that oftentimes some people strip the VRO components from their motor and run them in a more traditional manual oil mixing manner and I'm curious if perhaps this motor was once VRO and has since been converted. I guess the determining factor is our all motors sent out with the four pin Molex connector with that they are VRO are not? There is no oil tank nor is there the more complex VRO fuel pump. The model number of the motor is J50 TLETB . Thank you for your assistance .
