I don't understand your post riptorn. I had 4 people in the boat. My wife, kids 16, 13 and 8. Was it needed mentioning?
How would have this changed the out come of my wife decision or who is at fault if there was a accident.
Maybe talk to your insurance company. I am done here.

Re: Was this the right Decision????

Never knew every boater hated me when I'm on one of the jet skis.... Yikes, the opinions here are incredible!!

You should have been here 6-8 years ago, when people were allowed to say what they thought.

I doubt that anyone hates you, unless you follow peoples boats and jump their wakes, drive circles around them when they are at anchor, speed through no wake zones, pass them dangerously close, follow their skier or tubers, tear up the shallows and shorelines, or generally disrupt fisherman.

Re: Was this the right Decision????

The only wake jumping I have done is following my own cruisers, or if I'm passing another boat going the opposite direction and have to hit their wake on the way by. No need to slow down. :D.

I guess there are stereotypes for all kinds of boaters, I must have different jet skiers in my area though, as ive had more complaints about fishermen, sailboaters and skiers than guys on jet skis.

It sounds like the OP was slalom type skiing in a 300' wide channel? I'm just trying to get my information on the scenario before condemning anyone.

I didn't think about posting a Google Earth Image.

Anyway this is my water sking pattern at Canyon Lake Usually no problems with the Race Track Pattern.

This is really the only good spot to salom ski. Other areas are better for Wake boarders with shorter ropes and lots of waves because of the Canyon Walls.

Anyway the first arrow in the wider part of the canyon was were we were at. The jet skies are the red dots just entering the canyon.

I think you get the Idea.

It wouldn't have. The number of occupants (if within legal capacity) in your boat would not have affected a ruling on how the captain performed an avoidance maneuver. Kinda like how a passenger in your car isn't responsible if you run a stop sign. Your wife did the correct thing.

I would have done what she did.

If I were a safety instructor, I would use this as an example of yielding, even though you have the right of way. Despite that, If there was a game warden present, I believe they would have received the tickets, and not her.

Good for her! :D They were clearly being rude and pushy.
