Re: was ur new or used boat a mistake?
I've got around $500 total into my boat. Many people including fellow forum members said it was junk & wasn't worth fixing. At first I was having second thoughts & kinda bummed out. Now I realize just how wrong those people were!
Picked up boat & trailer for $300. It had a bad out drive, Got good used out drive for free along with a complete mercruiser 302 engine that I am going to sell, This will make the boat almost free! I put everything together & she runs like a champ & doesn't take on any water at all. I couldn't be happier! I pretty much went against the advice of many people & in the end I realize that I made all of the right decisions!
Even though she is a 1978, she is new to me & seems to be a great little first boat. Did I learn anything from this experience? Yes I did. TRI-HULLS ride very rough.
So at first I though it was a mistake, Not anymore!
As far as this MBS goes, I have watched one of my friends go through it. After quite a few different boats he now has something that is ideal for him. I'm sure that I will upgrade to a better boat one day & then another. That's how it seems to go.
Here are some pics of her.
