Re: water coming in- transom more pics added
Well i thought i would give a little update so far. It's not going so well. I put every thing back together yesterday with just the shift cable bellow and had it running nice in the driveway shift cable adjusted. i did that because i knew i was going to have to wait a couple of weeks to get all the parts.
Anyway i decided today to go down to the river drop it in on the trailer start it up and just check every thing out. You know see if i but it together the right way. And what do ya know still tons a water coming in and the bilge pump isn't working now

. Glad i was just doing it from the trailer.

The water was coming in from the prot side now. I must of just missed this the last time when i saw the water coming in from the starboard side because of the shift cable bellow.
So back out of the water and back home to tear it down. Decided to tear the whole thing down this time and just wait till i get all the parts. Outdrive off and the shaft bellow was totally dry same with the shift bellow. So i stoped there and decided to check the Lower exhust tube. Bingo, Took off the upper and intermedit tubes and the lower one is loose *** hell. I don't know if it's broke or just loose. So thought i might be able to see what's the deal if i pull the bell houesing off. Got it all off and cann't see a thing damit.
So it looks like i'm going to have to pull the engine. It doesn't look that hard. Lookds to be 1 pig tail, postive wire solenoid, ground, a couple of more wires, fuel line and the water line. But i only have access to a normal cherry picker not an a-frame so i hope i can just lift it up enuff to get it out of the bilge. That way i have room to work.
But there was thing that did go pretty well and that was pulling out the gimble bearing. Figured since i got the bell off still going to change all the bellows, shift cable, and bearing so i know when it was done. The bearing came out with 3 pulls on the 5lb slide hammer
