I have a 15hp Johnson, 1982. Prior to a recent head gasket replacement, I would see small amounts of water coming out of the exhaust port on the upper third of the leg, to the stern. After gasket replacement, the exhaust is dry. A buddy of mine has a 9.9hp, similar year Johnson and his shoots water out the same port (actually there's 2 on his) like a water hose.
First off, am I right to call this an exhaust port? Second, is this an indicator of something specific? I have my speculations, but I want to know what you guys think.
Thanks.
