I own an energy effecient 15 year old Kenmore fridge.Water has been gathering in the bottom under the produce drawers.Thought it was the icemaker so I disconnected the water supply and still water gathers.Approx 32 ounces per 2-3 days.Time for a new fridge??Charlie

Two possibilities are: 1;defrost drain is plugged 2; door gasket leaking allowing condensation to build up. What is the model #?

Been there. Frozen peas plugged the defrost drain. Easy fix.

A full quart in just 2-3 day? That is a lot.
What is fridge configuration? Fridge only...freezer on top...side by side...etc.?
That's a lot of water for just a drain to be plugged....especially if it's not a freezer on top model.

If it IS a freezer on top layout, is there a layer of ice built up on the floor of the compartment? That may be blocking the drain...which is usually located behind a panel at the back of the freezer compartment.

For some pics and tips check www.repairclinic.com and VERY specific...http://www.justanswer.com/sip/Kenmo...PMT=b&JPNW=g&gclid=CNrJkJfog6wCFacEQAodSBGHNw

Boy is this an oxymoron :D:D
Electric co gave me a rebate because of the energy rating. It is a freezer on top model and there probably is some ice on the freezer floor.I will start chipping away.Charlie

I've had 2 Kenmores do this, and it was the clogged defrost drain. Crumbs, dust & debris get in there and the water can't drain out the tube. Both times it was a 4 or 6 screw removal, take the crud out & back together, easy fix.
