Water in all four port side cylinders and oil

I need help please... I'm getting raw water in all four of my port side cylinders and water in my oil. I have a 1991 5.7 350 magnum Alpha one mercruiser. I changed my risers, exhust manifolds and checked for blockage out to the stern drive and still have the problem. the moter runs fine with no skip however when I shut the motor off the cylinder fill with water again. Could this be a head gasket or intake gasket?

with water only on the port side you either have a bad riser gasket seal, a cracked mnifold or a crack in a cylinder head exaust port.
were the manifolds and risers new or new to you? did you carefully clean the gasket surfaces and check with a feeler guage and a straight edge, would not be the first I have seen off square out of the box.
did you use factory merc gaskets?
did you use any sealant on the riser joint?

possibly a crack in the water jackets allowing water to leak into cylinders

Thank you for the responses. I used all OEM Merc Cruiser parts and gaskets, all brand new. I had this same problem with the old manifolds and risers, after replacing them, nothing changed. I did not use any silicone sealant anywhere, just the merc cruiser factory gasket. The reason I changed the exhaust manifolds and risers was because they were looking old and I thought they may be the problem. Again, changing them has made no difference at all. I am now worried about water doing damage to my engine, I've been constantly changing the milky oil after testing and fogging the engine and cylinders.

Dose anyone know if my problem is a cracked head how this could have happend??? I've only used the boat twice this year and it never overheated.

Ayuh,......

I Guess what I would do is,...

Do a Leak-down Test on those cylinders,..... And Listen for Bubbles.....

The Intake Gaskets can only leak water into the Oil,...
Possibly, Is the Intake Manifold Cracked somewhere,..??..??

Thank You... Can water pass thru the cylinders? I had pumped out 2.5 gallons of milkshake testing new manaifolds and gaskets.

Ayuh,....

It Can,+ Does.... It depends on the condition of the bore,+ the rings, as to how Fast it happens......

I'd pull the Intake,+ look for Freeze damage or something....

It happens fast... Ive changed the oil three times. I found a lot of water just from running the motor for just a few mins.

Ok... Got it. I will pull off the intake manifold. Not sure about removing the distributor correctly.

Turn engine over till the harmonic balancer mark aligns with the TDC mark
Take distributor cap off
Mark on distributor where rotor points
Make a mark on intake and distributor body so you can alig them later
Pull distributor

As long as you don't crank the engine line all back uo and you will be close on timimg

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to post an update... I removed the intake manifold and checked for cracks installed new gaskets, reinstalled the distributor (thanks to Bondo & Bomars instructions). The motor started and ran great. I let the motor heat up for about 20 mins and pulled the #1 spark plug. I found water again. I then decided just pull the heads off. Upon inspection of the old head gaskets I found nothing wrong with them... No tears or breaks. No cracks in the head that I can see. No cracks in the cylinder walls. I'm taking the heads to a machine shop in the morning. Any advice?

Sure sounds to me like you got some type of blockage in the exhaust, some thing that is causing the water to backup when you shut the engine off.

Is the water shutter in 1 piece, half gone, total missing???

Try running it with the drive removed. stick a garden hose in the water passage of the bell housing. then see if you still get water in the cyl's.
