Water pump impeller

I just replaced the complete water pump on a 125hp. I did not use the manual and am now wondering if the impeller is folded/bent in the wrong direction.

My question is - Will the impeller return itself to the proper direction when the engine is turned over or should I take the unit back apart?

Also, the manual shows a stop, rubber boot and a collar at the top of the drive shaft. I did not find a collar. Is this a problem?

Year of motor is 1986.

Yes, the impeller will right itself. Collar, I don't know.

I think there should be a rubber O-ring that fits in a groove on the shaft.
