I've seen this term used here on our forum frequently....... I finally spent some time......and looked 'er up.

I think I'm a "waterman" (by FL terms).......but not sure.

Are you?

I wonder how many of us are drawn to our waters by our soul....

The exitement of being there...the fix.....

The unknown....wheather it be a pond, creek, or river..

Me?..... Still figger'en it out!

I see many "watermen" here that don't realize it yet.......fess up!......are you one?

Around here, a Waterman has a TFL, a CB or both. They wear white boots and drink 10 oz beers. They know how to use a snood, have a freezer full of bull lips out back and they know a good softie when they see one. :D:D

I'm thinking it's a good thing that I don't understand any of that.

Re: Waterman? Are You?

I have a pontoon for lakes and big rivers, river raft for long and short float trips on big and small rivers, and a square stern canoe for the same rivers when the water's low. They all get used throughout the year, and the admiral is getting me a kayak for my fortieth next month (she just doesn't know it yet;)). Either I'm a waterman or I have a problem (or both).

Oh yes! Definitley a Waterman my friend.

To be next to, on or in the water whether it be a lake, river or sea soothes the soul.
My parents own a 400 year old converted mill house in Norther Italy with a river 20 feet from the front door and a stream 5 feet to the rear.
The sound either night or day is magical.
The sound of water slapping against my anchored boat while I lie under the sun is magical.

I have water in my veins!:)

I'm not gonna touch that one ... today is a "be nice" day!:p;)

See, I KNOW I have a problem ... can never get enough water! If there is none around to float on I have to settle for drinking it! I just gotta have my water!

That's why so many people like to vacation on or near water.

For me sitting and staring at water either on shore or on a boat is the ultimate way to relax. :)

And since I've never gotten seasick that makes me a waterman right? :D

Captain, just so we stay politically correct here, what about waterwomen? ;)

Re: Waterman? Are You?

Do I qualify as a waterman when I will close the shop at 1:00 in the afternoon, just to go sit on the boat at the dock and hunt around to find something to tinker with?

Any excuse to be on the boat?

Am I the only one who has ever sat on the boat in the driveway, drinking a beer and listening to the radio while the rest of the family were in the house eating dinner?
