Had not splashed yet this year aka life happens. But 18/20 anniversary so thought i must take the time and make the effort life can wait a minute.
Ran the day before by myself as one should, ran usual route, she was cranky as always when cold and half warm from sitting but ran the 16ish miles fine with a three hour grill and beer stop.
Next day, wife and i load up and we run short part first to our grilling and chilling spot. Had fun, built a fire, drowned worms - the usual.
Load up for the rest of the run and head in and she sputtered a bit starting but thats normal and i usually just fast hull speed a bit to let her get back to warm then go.
Go didn't happen.
Tried everything i could think of but only get started with choke and i could sometimes keep revved up in neutral. Only thing different was a new fuel station but it is the only one in 5 miles from the ramp so has to be used often but hey, **** happens right?
That was a month ago, finally getting around to it and grabbed the other fuel tank to go fill up but before i did dico'd the lines and blew out the fuel into a glass. No water, but did have a nice varnish flake so hey i was excited. Checked the filter under the hood and a bit more so as i rinsing off i was thinking hey this is an easy fix. Check my inline and looks good as well. Well, its been a year and season is about over so might as well change the inline while i'm at it.
sucking air. didn't see until taking off the clamp.
new one in, muffs on, all good.
