Well, I guess I should start a thread, just had a project boat fall in my lap.
This poor SS160 has been sitting in my mothers back yard for the last 4 seasons due to a no charging situation with the 90 Johnson after a powerhead rebuild and my step-dad's refusal of my help to diagnose it. Ended up just being a voltage regulator.
The first three winters it didn't get covered until after the first snow fall that stayed and not at all last winter so the floor is pretty shot.
He decided to upgrade to a 20 foot Alaskan this summer rather than fix the floor, so for helping him swap the 90 over the Starcraft is mine. He built consoles for the Lund, lengthened the trailer to suit and swapped the windshield over, but, I am trying to find him one better suited to the Alaskan so I can have it back.
I unfortunately don't have current pictures of the poor neglected starcraft, but here it is circa 04:
The top and bow tonneau have been off of it and in the garage for years, and are still in good shape, if they haven't shrunk to the point they no longer fit.... LOL
So far having my girlfriend pay a visit to her father's neighbor with an offer of removal looks to have rewarded me with a glasser donor boat that hasn't moved in forever and a day, but has an 89 or 90 Johnson 70 on it judging by decals and an ez-loader trailer.
Pictures aren't great, I'll grab better ones on friday when I get it.
I highly doubt that the hull is heading anywhere but the dump, but, it'll make a good trailer donor, probably for the alaskan so I can have my proper trailer back, and possibly a power donor for my boat, apparently they have more parts they think are for it in the garage that come with it.
I want to modify it a bit, raising the consoles is a possibility as I am kind of long and the captains chair is a little uncomfortable for me, and I am thinking of setting up the bow more along the lines of a superfisherman.
If the 70 doesn't work out I have a 55 at work that was taken on trade years ago(we are a Yamahammer dealer,) and if all else fails, I have a 1940 Johnson AT-10 5 horse that will eventually get me somewhere.... lol
Hopefully that wasn;t too long and rambling...
