Re: What anticorosive spray do you use?
Some cosmoline type of coating would do the trick. I know that Amsoil and CRC both make this type of coating, calling it "corrosion inhibitor", I believe. I have used both and they work well. In fact, in the 80's the machine ship I worked for had a piece s 1" x 36" x 36" steel that had machined surfaces on it. Something was out of spec with the part, so the customer didn't want it, and the shop didn't want to trash it, so they threw it in the back yard, after painting it with the CRC spray and it sat out there for years with no rust getting started.
Your concern, when looking for this type or product, is that it doesn't get hard and crack, allowing corrosive elements to whatever you're protecting. While it should dry, and not attract dust, it should remain flexible.
I used to run the CRC product on my chrome wheels on my truck in the winter. All winter long, with snow and whatever they put on the roads, every spring I took carb cleaner to them and the rims looked brand new. I still have them in my garage attic, 20 years later, and they still look brand new.
