In the city in which I live there is a new trend; some of the fine citizens (the ones with the 24" rims on their Caprice Classics) have now begun to put high-power speakers on the OUTSIDE of their "whips" (that is a car) so they can share their musical tastes with EVERYONE in the neighborhoods they are driving through. I live in a quiet little area near the water just off of a street that is one of only two roads on and off of a small island; that is it WAS quiet until this recent trend blasting incoherent babble and noise that can literally be heard for 3 or 4 blocks. We have always liked to sit outside in the evenings, but it has really become pervasive recently and it pi$$es me off!!! It makes me want to sit behind the fence and hurl concrete blocks through their window!!!
Why do people feel the need to do this? When I was a teenager, I was into cars myself; I built my first car myself, a '67 Mustang that would literally jump a soda can. I could smoke the tires as far as I would like, which admittedly I did on occasion; however it would be so far out in the country, cows were the only creatures disturbed. This is such a ridiculous trend, and it is sooo deliberately disrespectful; these are kids that didn't get nearly enough strap leather to the @$$!!! Yes, I do believe that a swat on the backside is in order occasionally. Go ahead and persecute me for that one if you need to, but I can say I learned to respect others!
