I have a Toyota Tundra 4WD with a small V8 and it pulls an 18 ft Ranger with 150 Merc 1200lb boat plus 400 lb engine easily.

In the 70's I had a little 15ft bomber style boat with a 40 hp and used a 72 Ford Pinto to haul it around. Rev it up good with someone on the bumper on a wet ramp and it would get er done! Only had to have one new rear end put in!

i tow an 18ft runabout with my 1986 trans am. tows pretty well too. a lot of weird looks and comments though. Ive actually had random people at the launch ramp video tape me pulling out the boat. lol

I used to tow with my '86 IROC. It was usually the only car at the landing, and was always the only IROC. I miss that car.

I tow my 23' Mariah with 03 4X4 suburan or 98 F150. Both pull well but F150 is step side and boat will push it around in a wind.

I tow my 16 foot '96 Larson All-American 160 with a '97 Ford Aerostar.

This one is a 3.0 liter, rear drive. Anyone tried towing with one of these? Any transmission problems?

I have a 16 foot Sea Ray Seville, with a 140 Mercruiser sterndrive. My tow vehicle is a 98 Toyota Tacoma (2.4l 4cyl. she is a strong little horse)... Even though I have not had the opportunity to launch and receive the boat, I don't think there will be any problems. check out the pics..

I posted a pic of my truck earlier in the thread, but here is a pic hooked up to my new baby, that I brought home Friday.
The truck has 550hp/1100 ft/lbs at the rear wheels, talk about feeling like nothing is back there.

I?ve pulled the same small boat with a ?57 Belair, ?58 Fairlane 500, ?63 Catalina, '65 Electra, ?67 Tempest, ?71 Fairlane, ?71 Pinto, ?86 Tradesman, ?87 Cherokee, '88 Ranger, and '96 Cherokee.

The Cherokees and ?58 Fairlane pulled the best, with the Pinto (believe it or not) a close second. Some of the others pulled OK but rear visibility was poor.

Thats impressive.

I pull my 14' Alumacraft on a Karavan trailer with a 4 cyl. Hyundai Elantra, and I can barely tell that I am towing anything, granted the whole rig is probably less than 700lbs.

I tow my 16' Mark Twian Tri Hull with a 115 Hp Tower of Power with my DD/Off-road toy. 88' Jeep Cherokee - 35" tires and 6" lift. I never have a problem pulling out of the launch. Drop it into Low and just crawl out.

I'm getting ready to pull a 21' proline cc 3400# with a 2002 chevy s-10 4.3L and a 3.42 rear end. It's only a couple of miles to the ramp. I'll let ya'll know how it turned out

I don't own this anymore, but it did have a hitch. The name is "Happy Truck", and it was painted in genuine Rustoleum by a bunch of drunk pilots in Indiana. I had it in Orlando, but sold it in 2004. 4.0 liter inline six, a four speed school-bus transmission, and brakes that gave locomotive stopping distances...

-The kids in my neighborhood drew pictures of it and wrote stories for their classes; they loved it. My adult neighbors had a slightly less positive opinion~
