Well I am fairly new here but I will put my 2 bit in.

I am self employed. I repair, service, and sell dental equipment, and dental handpieces. Basicly all the equipment you see them use in the dental offices I fix and sell.

Haven't decided yet, I'm only 61. Always made decent money, never liked any of the work. Currently I'm just the Admiral's cabin boy and sex slave.

Commercial Refergeration. Thinking about finding a Dr. to put me on permanent disibility so I can retire. No use letting the illegals get it all.

I am a Heavy Equipment operator (Operating Engineer) I operate every thing but a crane ( just can't stomach swinging things over peoples heads), have been in the same trade for 17 years. 10 more I hope to retire and stay permanently drunk from there on.

Re: What does everyone do for a living?

I used to be in the navy for about 4 years. I was stationed in Japan for a year and then lived in Australia for a couple of years. My family has had a tradition of serving the navy since way back. Just look at my name: Billy Gull. We were made to sail the sea:)

After I served my four years in the navy, I moved to California and worked as a dock handler there for a couple of years. I moved from there to Louisville, Kentucky, where I settled down and had a family. I wanted to raise my family where I was raised and where I had a lot of family. I began driving a truck (pretty ironic turn for a seaman), but I get out to the lake every chance I get.

Hey, by the way - not to change the topic here, because it's a good one - but can anyone recommend to me a good insurance company? I just bought a new boat and I'm so paranoid something is going to happen to it, but I've always been pretty choosy about this sort of stuff. The company I'm looking at looks pretty good - they're called United Marine Underwriters. Can anybody tell me about them? Here's a link:

http://www.unitedmarine.net/

Thanks yall!

Funny thing how a guy who lives in Lousville Kentucky, has a link or reference in all 4 of his posts asking members if United Marine Underwrites is a good insurance company and who's Corporate Offices are in LaGrange, Kentucky, a mere 25 miles away from Lousville. Easy commute.

Suspicious to say the least. I know the guy hasn't posted in a while, but I just couldn't resist pointing out how people come here and try to deceive members.

Beware! :D:D:D

Re: What does everyone do for a living?

I drive truck. 2 steady runs a week from Canada to PA to OH to KY to IN back through OH to MI then home again.

Sometimes they send me to the East Coast though. Can;t say I enjoy that.

It pays for boat gas so it's not that bad of a job. I actually went to school for networking and then got sick of the "office" environment and went to school to weld. Boy I hate welding. So now I'm a road warrior.

I'd REALLY like to race cars for a living though.

I wonder what his reply would have been, if someone would have came back asking for people to look at the website on a class action lawsuit involving said insurance company?:D

Re: What does everyone do for a living?

from April through September, I am a sea kayak guide and instructor, and I manage the kayak rental shop and write the program for the center where I mostly do my work. We do a lot of school groups and elderhostels. I'm in the middle of buying into another kayaking company right now, we should have all the lawyer stuff done and signed by mid Oct.

I also have been running a portable sawmill for 12 years, and I sell a little solar equipment, and do plumbing and wiring and other odd jobs in the winter.
