Six volt golf car batteries get you (and me) around the course because there are 4, 6, or 8 of them depending on whether you have a 24 36 or 48 volt system. Battery requirements depend on the size of the troller which you haven't mentioned. Why take up space with two batteries when one big one will work just fine. A group 27 deep cycle with a 180 minute reserve capacity @ 23 amp draw runs $76 bucks at my local farm store. Used them for years in all my boats. There are also group 29 and 31's to consider with even more capacity.
