thank Al Gore for the internet.....where else would I get the answers?

Lund puts a vinyl type covering on their floor inserts and I noticed that Legend has what looks like a similar material.

What is it and what is the best way to get it stuck to ply?

Some boats have carpet....is that better? Is there a particular carpet type to buy?

Teh legend site shows the vinyl type flooring best

To carpet or not is pure preference. Many prefer no carpet in fishing boats. Tends to snag gear and get stinky. Tough to wash out.

If you do carpet, use marine-rated carpet. UV resistant and rubber backed. Lowes has it.

Re: What is that deck material?

I live in Canada and Lowes opened up 2 stores near me this year and Nautilex is not around here and a lot more expensive. I have it on my lower floor now and love it. I will give the carpet a try when the deck is ready to carpet.

They had outdoor carpet w/ marine grade backing for 40 cents US a square foot.
Did the light snag test and the hooks came out pretty easy.

The Lowes person said it would last 2-3 years maybe.

Sound right? Thanks for all the help!

Re: What is that deck material?

A buddy of mine used the carpet they have at our local Lowes to re-cover the deck on his pontoon a couple of years ago. (had a little fire incident, but that's another story) It looked great last time I saw it. He keeps his boat under a cover while on shore but it does get some weather. Seems to be holding up fine. I'll get the carpet brand while I am there (Lowes) tomorrow if I remember it.

Don't forget to give credit where credit is due. Al Gore's internet would not have been possible without Hillary's book "It Takes a Village"
