What is this and where does it mount?

From what I have found I think this: https://www.amazon.com/Sierra-18-6768-Compete-Assembly-Mercruiser/dp/B002IV6RXS may be a modern replacement. It appears to have female fittings coming out of the base of the pump but I'm right by a Tompkins and can always either pull those fittings out and put in a male fitting or use a male (whatever fitting and size it is on the pump outlet) to -3 male coupling in order to connect the lines. The part I am worried about is electrical connections. I do not know if it is a plug and play with the original wiring harness or if I need to redo stuff.

Also I am in Iowa.

That is the Alpha style. Unless you already have the Alpha style large rams. Low pressure high volume. Which use larger diameter flexible hoses. You need the opposite which is what you currently have, high pressure low volume.

How can you tell (serious question not being sarcastic)? The description reads High Pressure Low Volume, but I understand Amazon descriptions are not always correct. I cannot find a Sierra Marine website but I think they make fairly ok parts? Maybe? I just don't know how to get more information on them.

Ayuh,...... I disagree with the others,.....
Back when I got my ole tin barge, it had the old style pump, with the reverse lock,.....
I bought one of the new plastic tank pumps, 'n put it in, 'n ripped the ole plumbin', along with the reverse lock, 'n junk out,....
I ran it that way for well over 15 years, 'n intend to transfer it, 'n the rest of the driveline into another hull sometime soon,.....

To install it into yer boat, you'll need the new style return line, insteada the plastic line there now,.....

Do you happen to have a parts list of what you bought or a link to a thread that details the change? Also what wiring alterations did you need to make for the new pump and was it all done at the pump or did you need to run new wire up to the helm as well?

Ayuh,..... The wirin' for the reverse lock, got tossed with the lock,.....

The wirin' is done at the pump,.....
The forward wirin' is still red for power, green down, 'n blue up,.....
Even the plug at the pump for the forward wirin' is the same,.....

ok so if I understand what you are saying correctly, what I need to do is order that pump, replace the one hydraulic line (I'm assuming this is the one that connects to the reverse lock) and then plug the new pump in, mount it in the boat, and fill it with oil?

How burried is the line from the bottom of the transom housing to the pump? Is it like a socket wrench kind of space or a Mr. Fantastic flat hand extendo arm kind of space (I am assuming the later but am hopeful it is the former)?

If you need to get to the lines going to the trim block just remove the 2 1/4” 20 self locking nuts and pry the block down, the gasket may survive but if not you will have to either get a new one or “old school” make one.

Since the fitting on the end of the hose (#4) that is currently in place (runs up to the reverse lock valve) has the same fitting that screws into the pump, if the pump is close enough, you can just move it from the reverse lock valve to the pump.

Ok so the rain finally stopped here and I was able to try and work on this a bit. It turns out that the plastic hose has a -4 JIC fitting on it while the braided one is different (both diameter and fitting wise). From a different thread:

https://forums.iboats.com/threads/hydraulic-trim-tilt-hose-fittings.707102/

It appears that the fitting is supposed to be a 3/16 inverted flare. However, for the life of me I cannot find a 3/16 inverted flare adapter listed anywhere. Best I can find is an AN fitting but I do not know if that is the same or if they are interchangeable.

Since I was unable to shortcut the hose I tried disabling the reverse lockout valve by removing the switch and putting the swivel in the middle. However, I think the valve is gummed up or busted because while trying to extend the cylinder with the stuff removed it blew a trim cylinder. Anyone have a bead on a 3/16 female inverted flange to 1/4 male JIC fitting? Heck I'd even be willing for 3/16 female inverted flange to 3/16 any fitting and I can just stack a second adapter on the end of it.
