I'm about to order another set of Pro comp AT's.

The old set lasted so long even with tons of abuse. I just did a big search trying to find another tire for a couple months, knowing it's coming time real soon.

BF Goodrichs haven't lasted on anybody I knows trucks. Coopers do pop! Hankook I've been forced into that mistake on work trucks.

Cgd, be sure to take all this advice within the context of the poster's location. Your needs will obviously be very different from those of the guys in the west and midwest.

+1 on the Yokohama Geo lander ATs. I've got them on my F250 SD and have a little over 70K on them, and I figure they should be good for another 15K+.

BFGoodrich TA radials- I put 500,000 miles on them ( many sets ) and drove all over the country with them!

Labor relations has nothing to do with the quality of a product, I myself don't believe in unions any longer, of course I spent 26 years in one of the biggest unions in the world! The US Army, but still this has nothing to do with the quality of a product.

Army is not a union but thank you for your service. Why Cooper is bad is they have untrained workers making tires in the plant so may have problems. I didn't support the union in their strugle till they got locked out before Thanksgiving. The Union may not be right but if they went on strick I would not support them, but as a lock out those employees that want to work can't. What the company offered this plant was less than they offered another plant that they settled with after the lock out. So yes Cooper is wrong in many ways.

By the way, I would differ with you in your opinion about the Army, 26 years as an army officer gave me a bit of a different view of Military service, from my days at West Point, until my retirement, it seemed like a union!

It is a union of brothers and sisters defending our way of freedom. I proudly served our country for 20 years in the USAF and thank you MTboatguy for your dedication to our nation.

BFG All Terrian KO's... probably the best all terrian ever made. Expensive, but worth every penny IMO.

I can agree with that. The first set on my truck lasted 89k miles. My second set now has 50k...Less than a week ago, a guy was looking at the tread and asked if I had just gotten new tires.

bf goodrich at's, got 57K out of em on my 93 toy 4x4 w/ lots of offroading, also coopers very good

In my opinion BFG all terrain tires wear well and the best looking tire, but you can never get a good balance out of them and tend to give you weird steering/braking problems. I know this from personal use and customer complaints with before and after testing.

I've gotten good results from the set of Firestone Destination LEs on my Pacifica (and the rear of my Dakota).

I'm a tire dealer and just want to say that most "blowouts" are not the fault of the tire, regardless what brand. Blowouts 99% of the time are due to under inflation. Before someone jumps in and says "I CHECKED MY TIRES AND...", I'm sure you did. But did you check it 10 minutes before it blew? I know from personal experience that a tire, especially on the rear of a FWD or light-in-the rear pickup, can be dangerously low and you cannot tell it by the way it drives. It just takes a nail, ten to twenty minutes or so at highway speeds, and "thar she blows".
