helloo all! first post at this great site I found, Iam a new boat owner, I bought a 89 bayliner capri (17.5 foot) 1750 with a 1989 force 85 horse motor.
the motor has been all rebuilt. anyways the seller gave me two extra props with it, one of the extras is stamped 13 1/4 x 17. the one on my motor has been rebulit and I can just see a number 15 stamped on it. but it is physically smaller so I know it isnt a 13 1/4, it must be a 12 1/4 prop x 15 pitch. Iam debateing wich prop should I keep on my motor? I cannot take out to the lake to try out each as we are done with holidays for this year, so Iam hopeing one of you gurus can enlighten me on wich prop will give me the best performance , any help will be greatly appreciated thanx
I also posted this question in the force motor threads.Sorry I didnt know which forum would be correct

The boat came from the factory with a 17" pitch prop, so that's the one I would try first. The 15" will likely allow you to over-rev the motor.

BTW, you have a 1700, not a 1750. The 1750 has an I/O.

hm the dealership I guess did not know that it wasnt a 1750 then, I was not aware that there was no 1750 outboard.thanx for the info.I see you have an 88 capri! Iam in need of a few things like a black cup holder and front bow cover, anything for sale? lol I guess i will need to wait for next spring to get her out on the water to do a test run.my 85 horse force has $2000.00 worth of bills done recently and the boat itself is in very nice shape, even the interior I would grade it at a 7.5 out of 10. thanx for the replies guys!!

I'm sure one of these will work.

And your boat is 16' 10" and not 17' 6". Not that it matters. ;)
