What scares you most?

Slow Friday night. Thought it might be an interesting thread. What scares you most: spiders? snakes? death? poverty? Personally, I'm not too fond of arachnids, but I guess some kind of harm or tragedy befalling my family or close circle of friends would qualify as scary to me.

Alsheimers(sp!) for me too, although they say the best thing about it is you get to meet new people every day.<br />I have told the wife, put me in a home when I get bad, because that is what I will do with her.<br />You see the movie with Judie Dench in it on this subject JB? Lived through the Alzheimer’s trauma with my MIL. Had her in our home until we could no longer insure her well being. Talk about a sheety deal, the wife’s family was robbed of their mother. One day at a time. All joking aside those afflicted know not what they are loosing. At least that’s what we prayed.

The day that health insurance finally costs more than my mortgage, food, utilities, and gas back and forth to work. To where I have to drop it.<br />The month after I do, my wife comes down with a catastrophic illness.<br /><br />If it were me that has the illness, no worrys at all. The thought of the other scares me real bad.

Illness. Especially the type that can cripple you (stroke) or kill you slowly (cancer). I think both of those scare me more that anything else because you have no control over them.
