I am almost done restoring the interior of an 85 bayliner capri, and the hull is in perfect shape including gel coat and of course it is white, with the exception of some small stains on top of the gunwales and in the aft nonskid area by the splashwell(outboard) that look to be rust from something that sat ontop of the boat for along time (previous owner). what is the best thing to use/ method for cleaning the gel coat, should I wax it afterwards? Any advice is appreciated. I will try to get pics when my camera's charged.

Thats stuff won't hurt the gel coat? I do have a blue stripe in the gelcoat as seen in my pic and don't want to fade/bleach the blue. I already need 2 buff w/ some kind of polishing compound after its cleaned up more. The blue is slightly faded in the aft...

It shouldnt damage the colors...but your not sopping it on there like a bucket washing..

Just wipe it on..wipe some more..then you will see :) ... rinse well after.
