99.9 percent of the questions you asked have allready been discussed on these forums in detail!
if you read and search....you will feel confident in knowing how to do this.
it does not matter what kind of plywood that you use as long as the glue is waterproof.......
the "finish" is nothing more than a layer of fiberglass matt....approx 1oz in weight.....on the bottom side.
on the top....(under the carpet....a minimum 8 oz......that is one layer of matt and at least a finishing layer of fine weave glass cloth.
do the edges in resin.....
