A tasty chicken, sausage and rice concoction at an excellent restaurant in Barbados. My wife, sister, BIL and I were on a cruise that stopped there for a day. A local cab driver asked us if we wanted to do something a little off the beaten track.

We spent 2 hours at an outside table overlooking a small bay full of small, brightly painted fishing boats. The sun set while were there, and the view was simply breathtaking. After 2 hours, the cab driver (who had gone home himself to eat dinner) picked us up again and took us to a couple of interesting local spots before dropping us back at the ship.

The whole experience was just over the top. I've never forgotten any of it.

Linguini with white clam sauce & Lobster at a little place up in Lake Placid NY. :)
I can't remember the name but its on the main road into town on the right.

I just spent a few days in Lake Placid, and was very impressed with the quality, and the relative inexpensiveness, of all the restaurants in Lake Placid. FTR all of them are on the main road thru town, and all of them are on the right, depending of course, on which direction you are travelling thru town.

My most memorable meal was in Sun Valley, Idaho. Twenty mile horse drawn sleigh ride thru the woods, past Earnest Hemmingway's house to a restaurant deep in the woods with the tenderest steak I've ever had...and the best bottle of Estate bottled Cabernet Savignon I've ever tasted.

Can't really say, I don't remember food that much, it's just something I have to eat to stay alive. But I do remember enjoying the Chinese restaurant down the street from my girlfriend's (now my wife of 30 years) house near Montreal. But maybe I'm really remembering the company.

Its funny !!, How we can remember the good times when we get older. :)
We also forget about all the bad times that we went threw to get here !!. :(

Isn't selective memory great?! I'm convinced that it is biological and I'm enjoying it more and more as I age.:D

A full days worth.... Early 60s, first saturday of May (opening day of trout season) my father and I "batchin it". Breakfast, Eggs over easy, side pork and apple pie. Lunch, ummmmm, nope can't remember lunch. Supper, taters wrapped in tin foil and chucked right in the coals of the fire pit and fresh trout, so fresh that they quivered when put in the frying pan. For dessert, the memory of a day spent with my father.:)

When I was 17 my grandmother took my family through some places in Europe. While in Germany we stayed with my parents old friends. The lady made dumplings the size of soft balls and huge chunks of breaded turtle that were about the same size. Definitely memorable for the taste, what we were eating, and the place we were for the meal.

Not a great memory, but definetly memorable.

My first attempt cooking Chicken Fried Steak and country gravy (the white stuff).

Being a newlywed trying to make one of the hubby's favorite meals ended in disaster. Steak overcooked, batter didn't hardly stick, gravy tasted like milk and flour soup with a hint of pepper.

Bless his heart BigBoatinOkie tried his best to choke it down eventhough I told him not to eat it. I never even took a bite. Mine went straight to the trash, not even fit to give to the dog.
