Hi,I bought this old thing the other day for 50..00 because I thought the nice trailer should be worth that. The thing has actually kinda grown on me in the short time I have had it.I cannot find any id on it all but if someone may point me in the direction of a possible maker of it I can search the web and find out who may have made it and possibly a year.

As you can see some idiot cut out half the dash and the front top of the bow.I am maybe thinking I could repair it or modify it a little better than they did up front and leave it a open bow since its already started in that direction.I really think its a cool old boat and in really good shape other than the screwed up modifications.

Anyway you have an idea of who made it it would be great. Its app. 14 feet long and fiberglass. Also you think I am nuts to try to fix it and use her or should I just take it to the dump and sell the trailer and such.I can take it one way or the other...Thanks

Is the motor any good? Is it siezed? I'd pull the plugs out, give a squirt of ATF to the cylinders and do a compression check before your love affair with this thing goes much further. What were you thinking of putting back in for the forward bulkhead? You have a hull. Maybe a motor. Sort of a trailer. Now all you need are bottomless funds and time.

with all that cut out I wouldn't mess with it; who knows if that affected it structurally.

Boats like that are often pulled up into the marsh and brushed, to make a duck blind, with no loss if a storm tide takes it.

if the motor works, a 40 can be a fun motor to put on a small speedboat, 13 whaler, etc. but me, I wouldn't deal with the hull.

Here's some shots of my old '61 '15 Larson All American. Same paint job.

Had a 70 hp Johnson. Went 35 MPH, it was a great boat. It needed more than I could do at the time or I'd still own it.

Well from what it looks like people are saying I will prbably just junk it and save the controls, trailer and such. The motor is probably just a parts motor or scrap iron.I only bought it really for the trailer as I thought its worth atleast a 100.00..Better than it going all to the junk like the guy was going to do if I did not get it...Dockwrecker what do you mean by sort of a trailer? Its a very nice clean trailer in great shape..Hell you could not buy the high quality jack stand on it for 50.00...Thanks everybody...

Don't feel bad I would give you $51.00 for the whole thing right now if you weren't in Nebraska I don't even want to imagine what that tow bill would be

At least run a compression check on the old motor who knows you may have lucked up on a $200 motor at minimum. She may end up being a runner. The gas tank in there $10 bucks at minimum the trailer is worth at least $100 bucks either way you certainly didn't lose as a matter fact find out what year that motor is I MIGHT be willing to buy some parts. ;)

At least in my area trailers in worse condition than that are selling for $200.00 and I would bet there is at least $50.00 in parts on that motor. Carb, starter, lower unit, prop.

I looked at that boat also. I believe it is a early 60s larson. I didnt have much time to see it so i really couldnt tell. I was really only interested in the sternlite and step pads. The trailer looked fine, but the hull will need lots of work, really wet on bottom. If you have time and alittle cash, go for it.

I was messing around today and thought for sure the motor was locked as the starter would just clunk when I truned it over.I pulled the plugs and they looked amazingly clean.I got to thinking and pulled it off the boat and brought the motor in the house by the woodburner and after about a hour it turned fine.Took the drain plugs from the bottom end and some water and oild came out eventually. The bottom end was partially froze I guess as its been in the 20s here.Seems to have good compression too..

Skip sent you a PM if you want that stuff its yours, come get it.I am going to probably only keep the motor, steering, electrical, controls and trailer and scrap the hull,I may use the trailer for my little 10 foot GW Invader,I have a jetski trailer under it now but this one would be better I think.......Bruce
