Does about 28-30 on GPS but the motor is mounted a little too low so it gets slower if I try to run it trimmed in all the way.

1979 Starcraft Islander, was an 140 hp omc stringer, hull is now repowered with an 150 hp o/b hp on a 30 inch setback bracket.
still testing and tuning setup, it's close but still a few bugs.
with a 20p 4 blade, pulls real hard with a 3 on board and 30 gallons of fuel to 33 gps.
with a 21p 3 blade, touched 40.
overall picked up an easy 10 mph over the i/o setup.

I thought this a starcraft boat speed thread???

a doral prestancia with twin 350's, 46
a hydrostream vegas with a 225, I've stopped at 80.

My Crestliner with a 40hp johnson and 30 gal fuel, top up, 2 fat old men all our fishin stuff, 21 mph, by gps, against the wind. Wind always blows against you where I fish. My Starcraft, 21 ft with a 350 inboard and eliminator jet, I've been told does 60+. On a jetboat site I go to they tell me if it doesn't go faster than that there's something wrong. I only need 1 1/2 for fishin.

My older boat was a 16' Starcraft Viscount with 40 hp Jonny and it ran 30 mph (gps) with two adults and fishing gear and full 12 gal tank.

Now you have me wonderig too. I checked the speed with a GPS unit. Motor seems to run fine, easy starting, idles good and smooth through peak rpms. The prop has a few nicks in it but not sure if that would make a huge difference. I'm glad a posted to see what others are getting.

Two observations come to mind after watching your video.

1) I'm glad to see your using the trailer now to move your boat. I got a little nervous watching you roll her around on the hull.

2) A tractor as a tow vehicle may be cool in Midland but down here in the city you will get laughed at. I could just see you pull up to the launch at Lake St. Clair with the tractor. Waiting in line at the launch, Trophy, Grady White, 28' Carver, Old Tractor and an old Starcraft, $30,000 Ranger Bass Boat, $30,000 Triton, Checkmate, Scarob w/twin 454's ........

I'm just saying Bro. It's a really nice tractor though.

Even Jas has me beat.... I can get mine to a top speed of say.... dunno .5 mph. Thats about how fast I can pull it out of the garage on the furniture dollies.

I can push mine up the driveway by hand. About a foot per minute. I'm suprised I can move mine by hand. It's an 18 foot I/O that probably weighs 1200-1500 pounds. I'm not getting any younger either!

16' SS with a '71 80hp Merc not running 100%...32mph with the current. About 27mph on the lake.

I sold that motor, hoping to check back in here in a few weeks and report the new numbers.(just need to finish the boat and buy a motor)

120 Mercruiser 2.5
21 pitch prop
38 mph GPS, smooth water, wide open and trimmed up.
Cruises at 35 mph GPS

Runs out of RPM's, looking for 23P prop to try next. Then a 140 3.0 if 120 2.5 ever dies. Chaising 40+ mph.

1991 19' galaxie with 4.3. ( getting transplanted into the chieftain someday) 39mph at 5100rpm with 19p prp. going to put the 21 on as reccomended rpm is 4400-4800.
